Rhetorical Genre Analysis

Textual Genres Rachel Egan might write or talk about as an Athletic Director:

  • Scheduling - To make sure everyone is on track and on the same page. The audience is the  Athletic teams and their coaches. 
  • Recruitment Pitch - Purpose and audience would be to get high school students or students looking to transfer to come to Frankenstein U. 
  • To do list - This is to make sure she doesn't forget what to do that day or that week. 
  • Pregame Talks- Purpose would be to get the team hyped and ready for their game. The audience could be to an athletic team or coach. 
  • Hiring/Firing/Conflict Emails - Purpose is pretty clear, it's to either hire/fire someone or sometimes deal with conflicts that are going on. Audience is to the leaders of the Departments she runs or in the case of conflicts could be players on an athletic team.
